I have not yet read here a review of two of Lisbon’s most charming hotels, York House and Janelas Verdes. They’re located in a quiet residential district called Lapa and Santos. If I were to stay in Lisbon in the near future, I’d go for those or a modern apartment in the center of the city, with stylish furnishings. The Go Lisbon site, http://www.golisbon.com has more information about those and other accommodation options.Marco
I have a wonderfal time in Lisbon, it’s the most beautiful city that i ever saw. The Portuguese are the most welcoming people i ever meet and cute to. We stayed in a charming apartment in the centre of the city. If you waant to go to Lisbon visit http://www.travellingtolisbon.com they have the most lovely apartments in Lisbon, with a high quality.
If you’re looking for something cheaper, stay at Oasis Backpacker’s Hostel. It’s in Barrio Alto, a great location for going out at night. The rooms are big and more like a hotel than a hostel. Awesome staff, nice outdoor patio, fun parties.
So far no one mentioned Hotel Albergaria Insulana. Was very cheap, clean, on Rua Augusta, close to Praca do Comercio and Bairo Alto. It was very simple, but had a 50s understated vibe to it. We loved it!
I can also recommend the apartment rental option in Lisbon. Great rates, great views, with a location you can really walk around from. We stayed in the Castelo Mirador apartment through waytostayhttp://www.waytostay.com/Lisbon-apartments-en-217.htmlIts at the base of Lisbon’s medieval castle, which had lovely views out over Lisbon.I’ll be back in Lisbon for 2009, its soo beautiful to discover.

The Pousada at Queluz is a good option to stay. It is in the annex of the palace and is a short walk from the Queluz train station from where you can get frequent trains to downtown Lisbon (Rossio).http://eone.vox.com/library/post/portugal-lisboa—the-city-of-seven-hills.htmlMore about the Pousadas at http://eone.vox.com/library/post/portugal-pousadas-of-portugal.htmlPortugal is dotted with the Pousadas and the ones we went to were very nice.-Bharat
