I was also going to suggest the Hotel Alex. My husband and I have been there twice, the first time, we had an unobstructed view of the Matterhorn. And we sunbathed the first day we were there, walked in a light snow the last day (in May!). The second time, several years later, we could no longer see the Matterhorn. But as the previous traveler has noted, it is a charming hotel with lovely meals and a great location. My dream is to go back there again some day.Sheila E. Morgan
Yes, This hotel was one of the first hotels i stayed in during 1 week tour of Zermatt. It was comfortable and welcoming.
Zermatt offers numerous furnished appartments of any size for rent- at a fraction of hotel price – making the place accessible for moderate budgets – the Tourist office provides the list and location on the map of the village.
Hotel AlEX ..not related to my name!! Great place.. family run.. beautiful pool and close to everything and wonderful service.. plus demi pension meals divine..atmosphere casual but many different venues within the hotel to relax.. theme bars and frankly extremely warm compared to the other 5 Stars you recommend.. we have been going for years!
